Do I need to move out of my house during a major renovation?

It usually comes down to your tolerance for dust and noise more than which specific rooms are being renovated. For larger projects we generally recommend moving out, even if your kitchen and bathroom are staying intact, just because of how disruptive the rest of the work can be to everyday life. Smaller, more contained projects are usually fine to live through. We'll go over the scope with you ahead of time so you know what to expect before construction starts.

A builder founded in 1974 has more experience than one founded in 2015. Does that matter?

Yes, it does. Very few custom builds or major renovations go exactly to plan — something with the wall, the soil, or the supply chain usually comes up along the way.
